Comfort Is Expensive
It feels good to hit snooze.
It feels good to order takeout.
It feels good to skip the workout.
It feels good to sit on the couch after work.
Comfort isn't the enemy.
Living there is.
One of the biggest lies we tell ourselves is that the comfortable choice is the easier choice.
But is it?
Skipping today's workout feels easier...
Until climbing a flight of stairs becomes difficult.
Choosing convenience feels easier...
Until your doctor tells you it's time to make a change.
Putting off your health feels easier...
Until your body starts deciding what you can and can't do.
The truth is, every choice has a cost.
Working out costs you 30-60 minutes.
Not working out may cost you years of energy.
Eating well takes planning.
Not eating well may cost you medications, limitations, and missed opportunities.
The question isn't whether healthy habits are hard.
They are.
The question is:
Which hard are you choosing?
Being disciplined is hard. Living with regret is hard. Choose your hard.
Strength training is hard. Feeling like your body is holding you back is hard. Choose your hard.
Planning meals is hard. Managing chronic health problems is hard. Choose your hard.
You don't get to choose whether life will be hard.
You only get to choose which hard you'll live with.
That's why we train.
Not because it's easy.
Because the life we want requires us to become the kind of people willing to do hard things today so tomorrow becomes a little easier.
At Righteous Wellness, we aren't chasing comfort.
We're building capacity.
Capacity to serve.
Capacity to lead.
Capacity to play with our kids.
Capacity to enjoy retirement.
Capacity to say "yes" when life calls.
Because comfort is expensive.
And we're not willing to pay that price.
